Video: Playing 7-String Guitar on a 6-String Guitar

Jimmy Foster demonstrates 7-string jazz on a 6-string guitar

In this guitar lesson, Jimmy wants to show you how you can find out if you’d be a good candidate for the 7-string guitar style. Jimmy tunes his 6-guitar as follows:

From high to low: E – B – G – D – E – A

Jimmy gives some great insight into how a 7-string player approaches the chord solo guitar style. Give it a shot. You might be a natural 7-string guitar player.

I met Jimmy in Nashville in 1997—he built a guitar for me several months later, #147.
The 1/4 inch jack has come loose–apparently from inside the guitar, as the outside nut seems to be epoxied (?). How would you suggest I fix the problem?
    Thank you for your advise.
